Alupo urges Busoga leaders to unite and deliver services to the people

The Vice President Jessica Alupo asked leaders of Busoga to mobilize and rally the people of Busoga to steer development and transform  the sub region.

Alupo said there’s need for leaders in Busoga to unite and rally the people and friends of Busoga to steer Busoga’s development to regain their lost glory.

She made the call while attending the graduation party of Timothy Kadaga,  son to Former Parliament Speaker, First Deputy Premier and Minister for East African Affairs Rebecca Kadaga at Buzaya, Kamuli district yesterday.

The vice president also called upon the people of Busoga to embrace the Busoga Development Consortium.

Busoga Development Consortium(BDC) is a development agenda is premised on 10 pillars which include; commercializing agriculture; tourism culture and heritage; education and skills development; development of road and water infrastructure; environmental stability; industrialization and private sector development; health improvement; land and mineral resources development; urban and human settlement and Obwa Kyabazinga Bwa Busoga.

Alupo urged Parents to Continue shouldering the responsibility of  educating their children.  “Government has a policy on education which I request you to embrace and the government shall continue addressing the gaps and challenges therein and these can be filled when we work together.

I would like to thank the Kyabazinga of Busoga for encouraging the people of Busoga to treat education as a priority.  Where there’s education there’s life, future, peace and security, development.

She thanked parents who have supported their children throughout the education cycle. Alupo said the government will continue to work with leaders of Busoga to effectively deliver services to the people.

She promised to put issues of Busoga at the forefront including addressing the road network and the roads and the railway infrastructure.

She appreciated the people of Busoga for giving her a warm welcome for the many times she had been in the region.

 Alupo noted that this world is for those who are ready to adapt and applauded Timothy Kadaga for being a person of such character. 

“I last saw you in SMACK and what has brought you to this level is bse you were disciplined, patient, principled,  a person of integrity. I am here to encourage you to continue with those good attributes,” Alupo noted. 

She thanked Timothy’s friends upon achieving this landmark and encouraged them to work as a team because when they’re a team, their challenges become lighter to tackle.

Alupo congratulated Busoga for the recently conducted weeklong prayers which were aimed at fostering unity, reconciliation and development of the sub region.

The vice president called upon the locals to embrace Parish Development Model, a Government strategy or approach for organizing and delivering public and private sector interventions for wealth creation and employment generation at the parish level as the lowest economic planning unit.

She explained that this approach will ensure support for more Ugandans to increase their demand for goods and services.

As government, she pledged to continue ensuring that peace and security  prevails throughout the country. Kadaga thanked everyone for attending her son graduation party and called upon parents to value education.

The celebrations were attended by Moses Kigongo, Salaam Musumba, Kasule Lumumba and the Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom.

Nadiope noted that many children have attained education in the hands of Kadaga including Basoga and non Basoga children. “I want to thank you for being nondiscriminatory,” Nadiope noted.

He thanked Alupo for being a good friend of Busoga. “I want to you for promoting unity and togetherness in Busoga and supporting all the kingdom development activities and gracing this graduation ceremony,” Nadiope noted.

The Kyabazinga noted that he personally loves and takes it seriously and thanked government for the enabling environment.

He advised the graduands to begin learning life skills including hardwork, integrity and discipline which help you to succeed in life.

The Kyabazinga noted under the Gabula education fund they intend to extend to scholarships to over 300 vulnerable children in the kingdom.
