UBC AND MAKERERE UNIVERSITY INK DEAL


Makerere University and Uganda Broadcasting Corporation, UBC on Wednesday signed a media partnership to promote the Makerere at 100 activities on all its media platforms.

The Vice Chancellor Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe signed on behalf of Makerere University and Maurice Mugisha, the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation Deputy Managing Director signed on behalf of the National Broadcaster.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Prof. Nawangwe thanked UBC for partnering with the University on the centennial celebrations and for championing professional journalism.

The UBC Deputy MD, Maurice Mugisha congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his reappointment by the Makerere University Council for another 5-year term in office and said UBC would offer all its platforms to the University to publicise all the ‘Makerere at 100’ activities in the run-up to the centennial celebrations.

Makerere University will celebrate 100 years since it opened its doors to students in 1922. The Makerere at 100 secretariat are the organisers of the centennial celebrations that will be held on the 6th of October 2022.

The secretariat has organized several activities in the run-up to the anniversary including public lectures and sports activities in partnership with several corporate companies.
