Proposed enhanced National identification cards – Replacement to cost 200k, MPs oppose the new plan

Parliament has expressed dissatisfaction over the proposed fee for a replacement of National Identification cards. In the new government proposal, replacement of a National ID will cost two hundred thousand shillings. While appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Internal Affairs Minister for Internal Affairs Gen Kahinda Otaffire and officials at National Identification and Registration Authority maintained government’s position on the projected enhanced National Identification Cards.
