The Minister of State for Environment, Hon Beatrice Anywar is leading the Ugandan delegation attending the 7th GEF high level council meeting in Canada Vancouver, where resources are been mobilised to support environment management.
The delegation includes the Deputy Secretary, Treasury, Patrick Ocailap, the Uganda GEF Focus Point Person and Ms Maris Wanyera coordinator of Climate and Environment funds among others.
Uganda submitted it’s position on;
- 1. Governance of the Fund
2. Expedited disbursement of funds for implementation of agreed actions based on government system
3. System of accountability of GEF funds both financial and physical.
Under Governance – Uganda proposed equal representation of developed and developing countries on the steering committee.
