Empowering Female Police Trainees for Success

A team from the Department of Women Affairs engaged with female Probation Police Constables (PPCs) and Special Police Constables (SPCs) who are currently undergoing training at the Police Training School in Kabalye, Masindi, on September 25, 2023.

Senior women police officers, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Akoth Caroline, the head of Women Affairs, provided guidance to the trainees on empowerment and stressed the importance of conducting themselves professionally in their duties, particularly after graduating.

“As a woman, ensure that you maintain professionalism and present yourself smartly at all times. It is through this dedication that you will gain recognition and continue to achieve greater things,” emphasized Akoth.

ACP Akoth also highlighted the significance of self-care, achieving a balance between one’s career and family life, and, most importantly, maintaining discipline as a core requirement for long-term success within the force.

The trainees were also briefed on the broader mandate of the Uganda Police Force, emphasizing the need for the highest level of cooperation with their male counterparts to effectively serve the Ugandan population.
