The rising number of new HIV infections among adolescent girls and young women is posing a threat to the progress made in the fight against HIV.
According to the annual AIDS review report of 2022-2023 by the Uganda AIDS Commission, young people in the age group of 15-24 years account for 36% of new HIV infections.
