Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force Apprehends ADF Suspect on Surveillance Mission

The Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, has reported that the Joint Anti-terrorism Task Force is actively conducting operations against suspected ADF terror cells in the country.

On December 5, 2023, the Joint Territorial Team in Kiira Region and Kiira Central Division arrested Nyanzi Levi David Mwenze at approximately 4:45 am. The arrest followed reports of his suspicious behavior, as he was taking pictures of the Embassy restaurant and bar along the Iganga road in Jinja Central Ward, Jinja City.

Disguised as a person in distress, the suspect wore dirty clothes and was found in possession of bundles of cash in denominations of Ugx 50,000, 20,000, and 10,000. Upon arrest, a search revealed various exhibits, including AK47 bullets, four sim cards, eight Jinja City Street parking receipts for a vehicle with registration number UBK 620F, three other sim cards, and a school receipt from Victoria Boarding Primary School.

The suspect confessed to being an ADF rebel on a surveillance mission.
