Uganda’s journey towards a cashless economy appears to be on track as the central bank registers an increased uptake. Speaking during the 3rd Financial Stability Symposium, the Executive Director of Supervision at the Bank of Uganda, Dr. Tumubweine Twinemanzi, noted that the value of transactions using debit cards payment has increased by 9.1% as of December 2023.
