Ugandan Government’s Response to the Uganda House Fire Incident that happened in Nairobi on June 25, 2024

Following the Tuesday incident where the newly refurbished Uganda House on Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi’s Central Business District was vandalized and set ablaze, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda has responded with a statement. The government has reaffirmed that the relations between Uganda and Kenya remain solid.

While supporting peaceful demonstrations as a democratic right, Uganda strongly condemns the violence that led to the destruction of property and loss of lives. The Ministry has called for calm, discouraged unnecessary speculation, and urged for thorough investigations into the incident.
