In a significant move to enhance agricultural productivity and support extension services, the Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries Frank Tumwebaze, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary (PS) Maj. Gen. David Kasura-Kyomukama, officially handed over 162 motorcycles to extension workers across 81 districts from WestNile, Karamoja, Busoga,Elgon, Bukedi,Lango, Teso, Acholi,Lango, Buganda and Bunyoro sub regions.
The handover ceremony, held today at COCTU Wandegeya, marks a pivotal step in strengthening the National Oilseeds Project.
The initiative aims to enhance the mobility and efficiency of extension workers, enabling them to reach more farmers, particularly in remote and underserved areas, and provide timely and effective agricultural advice.
