Mathias Kiwanuka Seeks Gen Kainerugaba’s Support to Promote American Football in Uganda

Mathias Kiwanuka, the grandson of Uganda’s first Prime Minister, Benedicto Kiwanuka, held a meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Monday.

Kiwanuka, a former professional American football player who played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL), has returned to Uganda with the goal of promoting American football in the country.

A defensive end is a defensive player on an American football team positioned at the end of the line of scrimmage.

The 43-year-old athlete secured two Super Bowl titles with the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI.

The meeting with Gen Kainerugaba, who also serves as a senior presidential advisor on Special Operations, was arranged by Mr. Kwame Ruyondo.

During their discussion, Gen Kainerugaba committed to supporting Kiwanuka’s initiative.
