Parliament rejects General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s statements as an official government stance, considering them his personal opinions and not those of the Commander of Defence Forces. Recently, Gen. Muhoozi made statements via his personal X (formerly Twitter) social media account, addressing Uganda’s governance, which some members of Parliament believe may violate the Ugandan constitution.
A section of MPs raised the issue before the House, chaired by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa. Following a heated debate, Tayebwa directed that the Ministry of Defence and Internal Affairs handle the matter.
