Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba Oversees Final Preparations for Uganda’s 62nd Independence Parade in Busia

The Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, reviewed the preparations for the Independence parade in Busia ahead of the 62nd Independence Day celebrations.

The ceremony will be held at Busikho Teachers Demonstration Primary School in the border district.

Gen Kainerugaba expressed his gratitude to the parade participants for their hard work, particularly in incorporating new elements into the marching and military songs. He commended the band for mastering the songs and urged them to uphold the high standards.

By personally overseeing the preparations, the CDF showed his dedication to excellence and stressed the significance of precision during the parade.

Gen Kainerugaba was accompanied by local Members of Parliament, leaders, Maj Gen Don Nabasa (3rd Division Commander), and senior officers from the military, prisons, and Uganda Police.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officiate the 62nd Independence anniversary.
