The SCAJ Exhibition 2024 commenced yesterday, Wednesday 9th, October 2024 at the Big Sight Exhibition Centre in Tokyo.
Three of the six Ugandan coffee-exporting companies selected and approved by the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA)—Just Know Your Coffee Cup (JKCC) General Supplies Ltd., Zigoti Coffee Works Ltd., and Bugisu Cooperative Union—are participating in the show.
They are joined by Crystal Coffee and Gorilla Highlands Coffee, two Japanese companies that import Ugandan coffee into Japan. Crystal Coffee has been promoting Ugandan coffee at such exhibitions in Japan for many years, with or without the involvement of the Uganda Mission. The company imports 5 tons of Ugandan coffee annually, worth approximately 26.4 million Japanese Yen.
Uganda’s participation in this year’s exhibition follows the Uganda Mission in Tokyo’s procurement of exhibition space to promote and raise awareness of Ugandan coffee in Japan.
