The Uganda delegation arrived in Dubai for the UAE Business Forum, marking the start of a high-profile session aimed at strengthening economic ties between Uganda and the UAE. Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by H.E. Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, a board member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, alongside H.E. Mohammad Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers.
In his welcome remarks, Amb. Zaake W. Kibedi, Uganda’s Ambassador to the UAE, emphasized the significance of this forum in bridging business interests between both nations, setting an encouraging tone for discussions on trade and investment.
One of the highlights was a presentation by Uganda’s PSST, Ramathan Ggoobi, who provided an in-depth economic outlook on Uganda, showcasing the country’s growth trajectory and potential sectors for investment. Following this, a panel discussion on conducting business in Uganda was held, moderated by Mr. Jamal Bin Saif Al Jarwan. Esteemed panelists included PSST Ggoobi, MD NSSF Patrick Ayota, MD Modern Group Ashish Monopora, and MD Equity Bank Uganda’s Anthony Kituuka. Each shared insights into Uganda’s business environment and the advantages it offers for foreign investors.
Patrick Ayota, MD of Uganda’s National Social Security Fund (NSSF), also presented various investment opportunities in Uganda, specifically in joint ventures, underscoring the country’s commitment to creating partnerships that support sustainable development and economic prosperity.
