Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Returns to Uganda, Offering Global Opportunity for Young Artists

The highly anticipated Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has returned to Uganda for its 18th edition, inviting children under the age of 15 to showcase their creativity by imagining the future of mobility. This global competition, which encourages young minds to think about innovative ways to shape the transportation of tomorrow, has already received over 9 million entries from across the world since its inception in 2004.

In Uganda, this will be the second time the national competition is being held, following a successful debut last year. The contest is divided into three age categories: 7 years and under, 8-11 years, and 12-15 years. Children from all over Uganda are encouraged to submit their artwork, which can range from drawings of futuristic vehicles to imaginative concepts for mobility that could change the world.

The top three winners from each category will be awarded UGX 2 million each, which can be used for their school fees. More importantly, these talented young artists will represent Uganda on the global stage, with the chance to compete in Toyota’s World Contest. The international competition offers substantial rewards: category winners receive USD 5,000, with their schools also benefiting from a USD 10,000 prize. Six finalists from each category will each walk away with USD 3,000.

“Dreams cannot be limited. They are what motivate us to pursue our goals in life. For children, dreaming is an act of courage that sparks their imagination for the future,” said Isaac Tegule, Marketing Manager of CFAO Mobility Uganda. “Through this contest, we hope to inspire the next generation to think about the future of mobility while also building a connection with the Toyota brand from an early age.”

The contest is open to children in Uganda aged 15 and under, and the artwork can be submitted electronically via email to dreamcar.ug@cfao.com or delivered in person to CFAO Mobility branches nationwide. Participating locations include CFAO Mobility’s offices in Kampala, Gulu, Mbale, and Buliisa, as well as authorized service centers in other regions such as Arua, Fort Portal, Kabundaire, and Mbarara.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, 21st February 2025.
