On November 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a group of IMBALU youths wielding machetes, sticks, and stones launched an attack on several people in Katwaka Cell, Bumagenyi Ward, Industrial Division of Mbale City.
During the incident, a man named Wesonga Swaib was injured when he was struck on the head with a machete. Additionally, other victims were robbed of their possessions, including mobile phones and other items that are yet to be specified.
Wesonga Swaib was quickly taken to Bunampongo Health Centre III by his family members for initial treatment.
Police in Mbale City apprehended three suspects identified as Wamimbi Bosco, Watuwa Bernard, and Wabulo Moses.
Security forces regard this matter with utmost seriousness, as such acts jeopardize a cultural tradition that has long been practiced in peace.
