Uganda’s mass transportation landscape is taking a leap into the future with the launch of the E-Bus Xpress in Jinja, marking the beginning of an innovative electric-powered public transport system.
The E-Bus Xpress introduces a sustainable and efficient mass transport option featuring state-of-the-art electric buses equipped with e-payment systems. This cutting-edge service aims to provide passengers with an international-level travel experience while reducing the environmental impact of public transportation.
A significant focus of this initiative is inclusivity. The buses are designed with wide doorways and an Electronically Controlled Air Suspension System (ECAS), making them easily accessible for all passengers, including those with mobility challenges.
In the Eastern Region, residents are embracing the KayoolaEVS buses, which offer both comfort and eco-friendliness. The E-Bus Xpress team is actively engaging the public, providing critical information about routes, schedules, costs, and the numerous benefits of this new service. These interactions aim to ensure that communities are well-informed and excited about the future of electric public transportation in Uganda.
The launch of the E-Bus Xpress represents a bold step towards sustainable urban mobility, positioning Uganda as a leader in embracing e-mobility in the region.
