Entebbe International Airport handled 183,728 international passengers in October 2024, showcasing a steady growth in passenger traffic. This figure included 90,762 arrivals and 92,966 departures, averaging 5,926 passengers per day. The daily average marked an increase compared to the 5,545 passengers recorded per day in October 2023.
However, this was a slight decline from September 2024, which saw an average of 6,290 passengers per day.
In terms of cargo, the airport facilitated 1,798 metric tonnes of imports and 4,027 metric tonnes of exports, culminating in a total of 5,825 metric tonnes for the month of October.
The data was shared by Vianney Mpungu Luggya, the Manager of Public Affairs at the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), highlighting the airport’s continued role as a vital hub for both passenger travel and cargo transportation in the region.
This growth underscores the increasing importance of Entebbe International Airport in facilitating trade and travel, further positioning Uganda as a key player in regional connectivity.
