The Judiciary has addressed a misleading report by the New Vision newspaper regarding the ownership of land by foreigners under Freehold Tenure in Uganda. The publication misrepresents a court judgment involving a contested land dispute over the estate of the late Festo Banja.

The Court also uncovered fraudulent attempts by the plaintiffs to re-establish a Mailo title over land already registered under Freehold. Below is a detailed clarification of the matter.
