In her statement at the African Union Extraordinary Summit on the Post-Malabo CAADP Agenda, H.E. Amb. Josefa Sacko, Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment, extended a warm welcome to the delegates and guests.
She expressed her gratitude to the government of Uganda for hosting the summit at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort. Ambassador Sacko highlighted the significance of the Summit, which aims to review and shape Africa’s agrifood systems transformation.
She acknowledged the leadership of various key figures, including His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia. The Commissioner also commended the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, from farmers to private sectors, in crafting the new 10-year CAADP Strategy and Action Plan (2026–2035). This inclusive process sets out to build resilient and sustainable agrifood systems for Africa’s future.
