Uganda’s border points in the southwest remain peaceful despite the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the spokesperson for the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), Felix Kulayigye, the only impact on Uganda so far has been an influx of refugees and disruptions to business, with trucks stuck at border points.
On Sunday, the M23 rebel group overran DRC government forces and took control of Goma, the fourth-largest town in Congo.
