NRM Launches Final Phase of Membership Register Update Across Villages Nationwide

As the NRM gears up for the final stage of the membership register display and update on Wednesday, January 29, party officials on Monday began distributing register materials from the 151 NRM electoral districts to all villages nationwide.

The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja, responsible for the Kampala metropolitan area, launched the distribution of register materials, including registration books, from Wakiso district headquarters to all villages in Wakiso.

Namayanja urged the Wakiso registrars, who had gathered for a final briefing, to ensure that all villages receive the registration kits by Wednesday to avoid disruptions.

“We entrust these kits into your care and expect you to take full responsibility for their security,” Namayanja emphasized.

She warned the registrars against any acts of corruption or succumbing to manipulations from politicians seeking to interfere with the register.

“We will not hesitate to apprehend anyone who conspires with politicians to tamper with the register, such as including opposition supporters with the aim of sabotaging the upcoming primary elections,” she declared.

The Deputy Secretary General also encouraged registrars to motivate young people aged 16 and above to register and become members of the NRM.

“We need the youth to join the NRM. This is the only way we can remain strong and dominant, similar to other revolutionary political parties like the ANC in South Africa and Chama Cha Mapinduzi in Tanzania,” Namayanja said.

The exercise was witnessed by Wakiso District Chairman Abdul Kiyemba, Wakiso Resident District Commissioner Justine Mbabazi, and members of the District Executive Committee (DEC).
