Museveni Commissions Cassava Processing Factory in Nakasongola

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commissions a cassava processing factory in Nakasongola as part of his Parish Development Model (PDM) tours in the greater Luwero region.

The factory, which began operations three years ago, produces starch used in various industries including food, paper, pharmaceuticals, textiles, briquettes, and packaging. It currently employs 130 people and provides a source of income for over 1,800 individuals who supply cassava to the plant.

While officiating the commissioning, President Museveni applauded the factory’s proprietor for adding value to cassava and transforming it into a more attractive and profitable venture. He emphasized that such initiatives align with the goals of the PDM, aimed at boosting household incomes and industrial growth at the grassroots level.
