UPDF Neutralizes Two Terrorists in Munyonyo Ahead of Martyrs Day

A Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) counter-terrorism unit this morning intercepted and neutralized two armed terrorists in Munyonyo, a Kampala suburb.

According to Colonel Chris Magezi, Acting Director of Defence Public Information, the operation was intelligence-led and aimed at averting potential threats ahead of the Martyrs Day celebrations.

Among the assailants was a female suicide bomber found carrying powerful explosives.

Security agencies remain on high alert to ensure the national event proceeds safely. The public has been urged to remain calm, vigilant, and to report any suspicious individuals, objects, or activities to security personnel.
