Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has officially launched the construction of 19.85 kilometers of roads in various parts of the city under the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Program (GKMA-UDP).
The groundbreaking ceremony took place today in Katalemwa, Kawempe Division, and was officiated by the Executive Director of KCCA, alongside the Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs.
The road works are part of a broader infrastructure upgrade funded by the World Bank, aimed at improving urban mobility, connectivity, and service delivery in Kampala and its surrounding metropolitan areas.
Speaking at the event, officials emphasized that the project will not only ease transportation but also boost local economic activity and improve residents’ quality of life.
