UPDF 4 Infantry Division Applauds Officers for Professionalism and Integrity

The Deputy Commander of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 4 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Jackson Kayanja, has commended both the outgoing and incoming officers in the Division’s Administration and Training departments for their steadfast professionalism and honesty.

Representing Division Commander Major General Felix Busizoori during a formal handover and takeover function, Brig Gen Kayanja hailed the officers for their dedication and uprightness in service.

The event marked the transition of responsibilities as Colonel Innocent Tukashaba handed over the role of Division Training Officer to Colonel Orombi Olaya, while Colonel Samson Nabeeta passed on the mantle of Division Administration Officer to Colonel Godfrey Anang.

In his remarks to the newly appointed Division Administration Officer, Brig Gen Kayanja encouraged Col Anang to sustain the progress achieved by his predecessors. He underscored the importance of prioritizing troop welfare and maintaining administrative effectiveness across the Division.

He also highlighted the critical role of adhering to standard operating procedures, particularly in current field missions, adding that “this enhances coordination and minimizes conflicts among key stakeholders.”

Col Tukashaba, who is proceeding to the National Strategic Course at the National Defence College Uganda (NDC-U), expressed gratitude to the UPDF leadership for the trust placed in him. He also acknowledged the consistent support and mentorship provided by the Division’s leadership throughout his service.

Meanwhile, outgoing Administration Officer Col Nabeeta praised the collaborative spirit and mutual support he experienced during his tenure. He urged his successor to embrace innovative administrative methods and adopt new technologies to elevate the Division’s performance.

The handover ceremony was attended by department heads, officers, and personnel from various ranks within the 4 Infantry Division.
