Iganga Municipality Mayor Bamu Lulenzi Richard, a member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has praised the central government for releasing over 1.2 billion shillings to rehabilitate key roads in the town.
The municipality received 1,295,188,152 shillings from the Ministry of Works and Transport under the rehabilitation of selected community access roads. The works will be carried out by M/S Continuum Engineering Ltd.
Mayor Bamu said the funding marks a significant step in reshaping the image of Iganga and improving service delivery. He noted that despite his affiliation to the opposition NUP, he is committed to working with the government to bring better services to the people.
“This is what happens when we put political differences aside and focus on what matters,” Bamu said, adding that development should never be held back by party lines.
