The 6th Bi-Annual PCF Uganda CEO Retreat has officially kicked off today in Fort Portal Tourism City, bringing together over 200 CEOs, policymakers, and leaders under the theme: “Transforming Uganda into a Preferred Tourism Destination: Enhancing Public-Private Sector Investment in Infrastructure, Conservation, Digitalization, Product Diversification & Tourism Safety.”
The retreat, which runs until 11th September 2025, will culminate with a closing ceremony presided over by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Tourism is one of the 4ATMs (accelerators for transformation) identified to drive Uganda’s ambitious 10-fold economic growth strategy aiming to grow the economy from USD 50 billion in 2025 to USD 500 billion by 2040.
For this vision to become reality, combined strategies, investments, and collaborations across the tourism value chain are essential. The CEO Forum’s retreat offers a platform for public-private sector engagement, enabling leaders to design interventions, foster partnerships, and formulate actionable strategies to boost Uganda’s global competitiveness.
With the participation of major stakeholders such as government ministries, agencies, private sector players, and development partners, the retreat is poised to deliver practical solutions for infrastructure, conservation, product diversification, tourism safety, and digitalization all aimed at cementing Uganda’s position as a premier tourism destination.
