Uganda to Host the Fourth Edition of Ugandaโ€“UAE Business Forum in Kampala

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, is pleased to announce the Fourth Edition of the Ugandaโ€“United Arab Emirates (UAE) Business Forum slated for 27th  to 29th October 2025 at the prestigious Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

Now recognized as a signature platform for advancing economic and commercial cooperation between Uganda and the United Arab Emirates, the Forum has progressively evolved into a continental hub for dialogue and strategic partnership. Building upon the success of previous editions held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Kampala, this yearโ€™s gathering will reaffirm the two nationsโ€™ shared commitment to deepening trade, investment, and innovation ties.

The three-day engagement will draw distinguished government officials, business magnates, investors, and innovators from both nations. Participants will immerse in field visits, panel discussions, and direct business dialogues exploring opportunities in commercialized agriculture, agro-industrialization, tourism, oil and gas, renewable energy, infrastructure, innovation, and real estate. The event aligns with Ugandaโ€™s Vision 2040 and underscores the countryโ€™s steadfast resolve to create an enabling environment for sustainable investment.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda , will deliver the keynote address during the official opening ceremony, highlighting Ugandaโ€™s reform agenda and commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the UAE. Mr. Ramathan Ggoobi, Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, will later provide an economic outlook, presenting Uganda as a resilient and dynamic economy ripe for foreign investment. The Forum will culminate in a closing ceremony presided over Hon. Gen. Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, of the Republic of Uganda, marking another milestone in Ugandaโ€™s economic diplomacy.

Participants from the UAE include; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah Chambers of Commerce and Industry. 

Speaking ahead of the Forum, Ambassador Zaake Wanume Kibedi said:
โ€œThe relationship between the UAE and Uganda has grown steadily over the past seven years. Hosting this edition in Kampala reflects our shared commitment to move beyond dialogue toward tangible partnerships. I call upon Ugandan businesses and UAE investors to register, attend, and convert discussions into long-term ventures.โ€

In anticipation of the Forum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that Uganda continues to position itself as a regional gateway for innovation and trade. Mrs. Margaret Kafeero Head of Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the Forum represents โ€œa bridge between policy and partnership, where ideas transcend borders and transform into tangible outcomes.โ€ Ms. Margaret further observed that the Ugandaโ€“UAE Business Forum not only strengthens economic ties but also fosters cultural and technological exchange, symbolizing a partnership rooted in mutual trust and shared prosperity.

Government-to-Government, Government-to-Business, and Business-to-Business engagements will be at the core of the event, with dedicated sessions tailored to foster collaboration, policy dialogue, and market expansion. Field visits will showcase Ugandaโ€™s vibrant sectors from agribusiness and manufacturing to energy and innovation illustrating the countryโ€™s growing capacity to host world-class investment ventures.

Beyond its economic ambitions, the Ugandaโ€“UAE Business Forum stands as a testament to Ugandaโ€™s active global engagement. The collaboration between Kampala and Abu Dhabi mirrors a forward-looking partnership that seeks to unlock new avenues of opportunity, promote cross-border entrepreneurship, and sustain a mutually beneficial relationship anchored in shared development goals.  As preparations intensify, Uganda readies itself to welcome its partners from the United Arab Emirates and beyond affirming once again that diplomacy, when aligned with enterprise, becomes a force for transformation.
