Uganda Airlines and Airlink have entered an interline agreement that will allow passengers to connect more easily between East and Southern Africa through Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport.
According to the officials from Uganda Airlines & Airlink, the agreement enables travellers to book a single ticket from Entebbe (EBB) to more than 45 destinations served by Airlink across South Africa and the wider Southern African region. Passengers will benefit from through-check-in for themselves and their baggage, removing the need for multiple check-ins while transiting Johannesburg.
Under the partnership, Uganda Airlines customers will gain access to Airlink’s network covering key commercial and leisure destinations including Cape Town, Durban, Victoria Falls, Windhoek, Gaborone, and others. In return, Airlink customers will be able to connect seamlessly onto Uganda Airlines’ expanding African network.
Uganda Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adedayo Olawuyi, said the agreement aligns with the carrier’s plans to strengthen intra-African connectivity.
“We are pleased to partner with Airlink, a respected airline with a strong regional footprint. This interline agreement supports our ambition to make travel within Africa easier and offers our customers more choice and convenience across Southern Africa.”

Airlink Chief Commercial Officer, Katherine Whelan, noted that the collaboration broadens options for travellers on both sides.
“This partnership strengthens our commitment to connecting Africa. It provides a key East African gateway for Airlink passengers, while giving Ugandan travellers efficient access to Southern Africa’s main economic and tourism hubs. It benefits both airlines and our customers.”
