On the sidelines of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting in Kampala, Hon. Oryem Henry Okello, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (International Affairs), held bilateral discussions with H.E. Sabine Sparwasser, the Special Envoy of Germany. The meeting underscored the longstanding partnership and mutual respect between Uganda and Germany.
H.E. Sparwasser expressed gratitude to Uganda for its support in voting for Germany’s candidature to the United Nations Security Council, and further commended Uganda’s commendable role in managing the refugee crisis and promoting regional security.
In his remarks, Hon. Oryem reaffirmed Uganda’s appreciation of the cordial relations shared with Germany, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration in areas of peace, development, and humanitarian response.
He further highlighted Uganda’s firm belief in Pan-Africanism as a guiding ideology for unity, self-reliance, and collective security across the continent, aligning with Uganda’s broader national and regional interests
