Uganda Cranes played out a 2–2 draw with Morocco’s AS FAR in an international friendly match held today in Morocco as part of their preparations for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.

The match served as a build-up fixture for both sides ahead of their respective continental engagements.

Omedi Gives Uganda Early Lead

Uganda opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Denis Omedi. Omedi controlled a long pass from Bobosi Byaruhanga, carried the ball into the penalty area and finished to give the Cranes the lead.

Uganda maintained a solid shape in the opening stages and capitalised on their chances going forward.

AS FAR Level Before the Break

AS FAR pushed forward and equalised in the 44th minute through Heda Slim, sending the teams into halftime tied at 1–1.

Goals After the Restart

After the break, AS FAR briefly went ahead in the 59th minute when Haddraf Fatah scored directly from a free kick, beating substitute goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi.

Uganda responded nine minutes later. Ivan Ahimbisibwe scored the equaliser in the 68th minute to restore parity and close the scoring.

Young Players Get Minutes

The match also provided playing time for younger players. Bogere, the youngest player on the pitch, made his first start and completed the match. He showed confidence on the ball and was involved in attacking moves, including a chance created with support from Travis Mutyaba.
