Uganda have wrapped up their preparations and are fully focused ahead of tomorrow’s TotalEnergies AFCON Group C opener against Tunisia. The Cranes completed their final training session with belief and determination running through the camp.

Head coach Paul Put says the team understands the challenge but is ready to compete.

“We know the quality of Tunisia, but my players are ready for the challenge. This is AFCON, and every team has to compete with courage and discipline,” Put said.

He also stressed the importance of mentality and execution.

“We must remain organised, manage the key moments and take our chances when they come. If we do that, we can be competitive,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tunisia continued their preparations with an intense training session on Tuesday as they fine-tuned their tactical approach ahead of the encounter.

The Carthage Eagles focused on tactical organisation, ball circulation and quick transitions, with the technical team emphasising discipline, compactness and game tempo. Goalkeepers worked through specialised drills while outfield players went through structured sessions to build cohesion.

Head coach Sami Trabelsi expressed confidence in his squad.

“The response from the players has been very positive. We are working on the small details because at this level, matches are often decided by fine margins,” he said.

He acknowledged Uganda’s strength but maintained Tunisia’s focus remains on themselves.

“The opening match is crucial. Uganda are a well-organised and competitive team and we respect them, but our focus is on implementing our game plan with confidence,” he added.
