The UPDF Engineers Brigade is putting the final touches on a two-classroom block at Kanyankwanzi Primary School in Kabale. The project, which began on November 16, 2025, is 72 percent complete, with plastering nearly finished and only painting and flooring remaining.
The Acting Site Engineer, Warrant Officer Two Byekwaso Robert, said the team encountered challenges after demolishing the old structure, which required additional hardcore to stabilize the ground. He noted that the project is expected to be completed and handed over by December 28, adding that the initiative has also benefited local casual laborers.
Reverend Robert Byarugaba, the Parish Priest of Bukoora Church of Uganda, commended the UPDF for the quality of work, saying the community is excited about the new permanent building. The completed structure is expected to be handed over to the end users on January 6, 2026.
