Road maintenance teams from the Kabale Station are responding to multiple landslides that temporarily cut off sections of the Rukungiri–Mitaano–Kanungu Road earlier this week, following persistent heavy rainfall.
The landslides rendered the route impassable at various points, prompting immediate intervention to restore traffic flow. Although several sections have been cleared, continued rainfall has triggered fresh slides, requiring repeated response by the teams on the ground.
The Kabale Station team remains on standby, closely monitoring the road and promptly clearing debris to keep the route passable for motorists and other road users.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, particularly during and after heavy rains, as the risk of additional landslides remains high.
