Activate Uganda has released its 2026 race calendar, laying out a full year of running, trail, marathon and endurance events scheduled from January to December.
The programme features road races, trail runs, ultra events, relays and virtual challenges, with activities spread across different regions of the country.
January to February
The season opens on 1 January with the New Year Resolution Run, followed by the Valentine’s Day Run on 14 February.
March to May
March will be one of the busiest months, with the Women’s Day Run on 8 March, the Kampala 7-Hills Run on 15 March, and the Mbarara City Marathon on 28 March.
April features the Easter Virtual Run Challenge from 3 to 6 April and the Legends Marathon on 19 April.
In May, runners will take on the Kyambogo Ultra Run Challenge on 2 May, the Mother’s Day Run on 10 May, the Mpanga Forest Trail Run and MTB Challenge on 24 May, and the Virunga Marathon on 30 May.
June to August
June is headlined by the Hero’s Day Marathon on 7 June.
In July, the calendar includes the Kampala–Jinja Relay on 4–5 July and the Fort Portal City Run on 18 July.
August will feature the Great Escarpment Ultra Run on 1 August, Makerere MAK-Run on 16 August, the Rwenzori Marathon on 22 August, and the Rotary Cancer Run on 30 August.
September to December
September includes the Source of the Nile Trail Run on 6 September and the Grit Megasport Race on 19 September.
October will see the Uganda Ultra Circuit Race on 4 October and the Independence Day Marathon on 9 October.
In November, runners will take on the Iron Hammer Trail Run on 18 November.
The year will close with the Gulu Marathon on 5 December, the Kampala Santa Fun Run on 13 December, and the Activate Uganda 10×10 Christmas Run from 15 to 24 December.
