NMS and Security Agencies Stop Attempted Robbery at Entebbe Warehouse

National Medical Stores (NMS), in collaboration with national security agencies, has successfully foiled an attempted robbery at one of its rented warehouse facilities in Entebbe.

According to a statement from NMS, the incident occurred last night and was swiftly detected by NMS security teams working jointly with the Special Forces Command (SFC) and the Uganda Police Force. The coordinated response ensured that the suspects were intercepted before any medical supplies could be removed from the premises.

Security agencies cordoned off the area as a precautionary measure to allow for thorough investigations. NMS confirmed that there was no loss of medical supplies, as the items were recovered on site during the operation.

During the incident, two suspects sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment, while three others were arrested and remain in custody.

NMS emphasized that its operations have not been disrupted and continue as normal. The institution reaffirmed its full cooperation with the relevant authorities and reiterated its commitment to protecting its staff, assets, and the integrity of the national medicines supply chain.

NMS also expressed appreciation to the security agencies for their swift and effective response in ensuring the safety of critical medical supplies.
