President Museveni Meets Cardinal Wamala, Pledges Support for Kamagwa Hospital and Legacy Museum.

President Museveni has met His Eminence Emmanuel Wamala and commended him for his contribution to faith and social transformation in Uganda.

In a statement shared on the President’s official X page, Museveni said government will support the Cardinal Wamala Family Foundation’s Kamagwa Hospital, while it continues to operate as a private facility. He also said the Ministry of Tourism will support plans to set up a museum to preserve Cardinal Wamala’s legacy.

At the Cardinal’s request, the President accepted to serve as Patron of the project.

The President wished Cardinal Wamala good health and God’s blessings as he marks 99 years.

Cardinal Wamala, a former Archbishop of Kampala, is one of Uganda’s most senior Catholic clerics and has played a prominent role in church and public life over several decades. The planned museum is expected to document his life and work, while support to Kamagwa Hospital is aimed at strengthening service delivery to surrounding communities.
