The Westminster Africa Business Association has held talks with the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury and Secretary to the Treasury, Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi, focusing on Uganda’s investment priorities under the Ten-Fold Growth Strategy.
During the engagement, Dr. Ggoobi briefed the delegation on the key drivers behind Uganda’s economic transformation agenda and reiterated government’s commitment to supporting all bona fide investments coming into the country.
He said entry requirements for investors have been streamlined, and introduced the ministry’s technical team to underscore the government’s efforts to make Uganda’s investment environment more predictable and transparent.
Dr. Ggoobi also addressed concerns linked to negative narratives about Uganda, including issues around project timelines and governance. He pointed to ongoing reforms and accountability measures aimed at improving efficiency and strengthening investor confidence.

The meeting was described as candid and forward-looking, with both sides expressing interest in deepening UK–Uganda trade and investment ties.
Also in attendance were Uganda’s High Commissioner to the UK, H.E. Nimisha Madhvani, and Ms. Miriam Otengo from the Uganda High Commission in London, alongside H.E. Lisa Chesney from the British High Commission in Kampala. Amb. Elly Kamahungye represented Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
