Uganda Consulate Mombasa proudly announces that the Uganda – Kenya Coast Collaboration was presented with the Cross- Border Coastal Tourism Resilience Award during the 4th Global Tourism Resilience Day Awards held at Safari Park, Nairobi on 17th February 2026. The Chief Guest was Hon. Rebecca Miano, EGH, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife- Kenya.

Global Tourism Resilience Day serves as an international platform to honor institutions and stakeholders that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and impact in tourism resilience, conservation, sustainable development, crisis preparedness, safety, and recovery initiatives. Kenya made history as the first African country to host this global event.
The award was in recognition of the joint efforts by Uganda Consulate Mombasa and partners in marine conservation, shared crisis response and cooperative coastal destination management.

This milestone highlights Uganda’s role in the promotion of regional tourism and its dedication to building resilient tourism systems that benefit both nations and the East African region at large.
The Uganda- Kenya Coast collaboration is an initiative started in 2022 by Uganda Consulate Mombasa aimed at promoting tourism between Uganda and Kenya. Since inception, the number of Kenyans visiting Uganda has increased due to the improved visibility of Uganda tourism products through this Collaboration.
