The Lango Cultural Institution, under the leadership of Paramount Chief Dr Eng Moses Odongo, has convened a Peace, Unity, Reconciliation and Development Meeting aimed at healing post election divisions and charting a five year development agenda for the Lango sub region.

The meeting brought together a cross section of leaders including ministers, Members of Parliament, LC5 and LC3 chairpersons, ambassadors, religious leaders and civil society actors. The gathering was anchored on the peace pillar as Uganda continues to recover from the recent General Elections.

Through prayers led by the Lango Religious Forum, leaders emphasized the need for unity beyond party lines and called for the rejection of hatred and jealousy in the political space.

They urged responsible engagement of young people, fulfillment of government pledges, improved service delivery, and stronger inclusion of cultural institutions in policy development and implementation.
