Police in Nansana have registered a major breakthrough in investigations into a string of robberies targeting bank clients within the area.
According to police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, four suspects were arrested during operations conducted between 10th and 14th March 2026 in connection with the incidents.
The suspects are believed to have been ambushing individuals returning from banking halls and robbing them of cash and other valuables.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to taking part in multiple robbery cases involving bank clients, particularly around Base Hotel and other banking areas within Nansana.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the group carried out the attacks while armed with pangas and used boda bodas to facilitate quick escape from crime scenes.
Police say efforts are ongoing to determine the full scope of the criminal network and to track down other accomplices who may still be at large.
Authorities have since urged members of the public, especially those withdrawing large sums of money from banks, to remain alert and consider seeking security escort or using safer alternatives when transporting cash.
