Uganda Red Cross, Bwamba Kingdom Sign MoU to Boost Blood Donation

The Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) and Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in humanitarian action, community resilience and voluntary blood donation.

The MoU was signed on 18 August 2026 at the URCS Headquarters in Kampala in a ceremony witnessed by Kingdom officials led by the Kingdom Prime Minister, Hon. Charles Bukantwa.

Under the partnership, URCS and the Kingdom will work together to mobilise communities to voluntarily donate blood and raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation.

The partnership will also leverage the Kingdom’s leadership structures and community networks to strengthen blood donation drives and other humanitarian initiatives across the Bwamba community.

The collaboration is expected to contribute to improving access to safe blood for patients in need while strengthening community resilience and humanitarian response.

The signing marks a new milestone in cooperation between URCS and Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba Kingdom, with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to saving lives and supporting communities.
