The Manifesto Implementation Unit in the Office of the President is advocating for increased funding to the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI). Fred Kamugira, a Director in the President’s Office, emphasizes that additional funding for such initiatives will advance the NRM Government’s agenda for skills development and industrialization. Kamugira led a delegation of economists and administrators from the Manifesto Implementation Unit to evaluate UIRI’s progress in achieving its objectives.
