Vice President Jessica Alupo in South Africa for Presidential Inauguration of H.E Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa

The Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo arrived safely in South Africa yesterday evening to represent H.E President Museveni at the inauguration of His Excellency Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, the President-Elect of the Republic of South Africa. Upon her arrival, Vice President Alupo was warmly received by Hon. Ronald Ozzy Lamola, South Africa’s Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, who extended his courtesies as the Reception Minister.

Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Amb. Paul Amoru, was also part of the welcoming delegation. A military ceremonial guard was on hand to honor the Vice President’s arrival.

Vice President Alupo expressed her gratitude to the government of South Africa for the gracious welcome and extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of South Africa on conducting a peaceful and successful election.

Since the formal establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994, Uganda and South Africa have enjoyed a strong and friendly bilateral relationship. This relationship has fostered not only social and political connections but also significantly bolstered trade and investment between the two nations.
