Uganda High Commission in the Federal Republic of Nigeria will, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Uganda, receive the newly constructed Uganda House Abuja Complex on 31st October 2024. The Uganda House project started in July 2022 following the signing of the contract between M/S Lubell Nigeria Ltd (Contractor); and Uganda High Commission, representing the Government of the Republic of Uganda.

The Uganda House Abuja Complex includes:

i) Office Block/Chancery Building

  ii) A Consular House

iii)  Residential Apartments Block (4 units)

The completion of the Uganda House Abuja is an important milestone in the promotion of economic, commercial, political and cultural relations between the Republic of Uganda and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The magnificent complex will also be the base for promotion of Uganda’s interests in 15 other countries in West Africa to which the Mission is accredited.

The project is fully funded by the Government of the Republic of Uganda. It is supervised by Desserect Nigeria Ltd, and a Contract Management Team (CMT) comprised of technical officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Works and Transport, and Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in Kampala. We are grateful to the Federal Republic of Nigeria for providing prime land in the Diplomatic Zone in the Central Business District (CBD) of Abuja.

The completion of the Uganda House Project coincides with the commencement of scheduled passenger flights by Uganda Airlines from Entebbe to Abuja on 12th September 2024. This comes less than a year since the Entebbe – Lagos route was operationalized. These milestones are a testament to the increasing interactions between the Governments and the peoples of Uganda and Nigeria. .
