The 5th Bi-annual Private Sector CEO Retreat hosted by the Office of the Prime Minister, in conjunction with the Presidential CEO Forum kicked off today at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The two-day Private Sector CEO Retreat is focusing on the commercialization of agriculture, a key priority for Uganda’s agro-based economy.
The key objective of the 5th Forum is to accelerate Northern Uganda’s potential to become a cornerstone of Uganda’s economic landscape.

The CEO of the Presidential CEO Forum, Irene Birungi Mugisha says, “Time has come for Northern Uganda to establish its own unique model of development, based on its popular form of geographical set up, to support political and socio-economic advancement”.
Since 2018, Uganda Coffee Development Authority, UCDA and the government have supported coffee growing in Northern Uganda, distributing 31 million seedlings.
Coffee is now cultivated in 31 of 33 districts in Northern Uganda.
Day 1 was graced by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja, Minister for Northern Uganda, Dr Kenneth Omona and State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara.
Speaking at the Forum, the Prime Minister said government is dedicated to turning Northern Uganda into a thriving agricultural center by advancing commercial farming, improving infrastructure and bolstering agribusinesses.
While addressing the Forum, the Board Chair, PCF, Emmanuel Katongole said Northern Uganda ought to be the place to go and should be a refining region for our country’s investment.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will on Saturday address the Forum and receive the resolutions of the 5th Bi-Annual Forum.
