President Museveni, in his message following his 80th birthday, expressed gratitude to all Ugandans and well-wishers who celebrated with him. He thanked those who sent birthday wishes and physically joined the celebrations in Kijaguzo and Kawumu.
Museveni also acknowledged Uganda’s freedom fighters and resistance movements, including the NRM and the UNC. After being reminded by his granddaughter, Hellen Seku, to share a birthday wish, he called upon Ugandans and Africans to support the Pan-Africanist dream of creating the East African Political Federation and consolidating the Continental Free Trade Area to ensure prosperity, security, and unity across the continent.
