Government Launches Traffic Improvement Project to Enhance Connectivity and Mobility in the Capital

The Government of Uganda has commenced a project to unblock traffic flow in the city and improve connectivity and mobility in the capital. This work involves establishing a Traffic Control Centre at City Hall and signalizing twenty-seven roundabouts and junctions in the city. This project is on schedule and is expected to be completed by April 2025.

Please note that the existing mature trees at the roundabouts will inevitably be removed, and as mitigation, KCCA is planting more trees to increase green coverage across the city.

The affected roundabouts are: Kubiri, City Mortuary, Mulago, Grand Imperial, and Rwenzori Courts/Sheraton Roundabouts.
